Consider approving minutes of the September 13, 2018 City Commission Meeting.

Consider initiating text amendments to Appendix A. “Listing of Permitted and Conditional Uses” and any related definitions in Article IV of the zoning ordinance relating to “Microbreweries”; “Bottling and canning soft drinks and carbonated water”; and “Beer, wine and alcoholic beverages – wholesale”.

D.

Consider authorizing receipt of sealed bids for the sale of approximately 75 dimmer modules.

III.

ITEMS FOR COMMISSION ACTION

A.

Consider adoption of the Community-based Strategic Plan, as drafted by the Strategic Planning Advisory Committee (SPAC) from input by the citizens of Independence.

B.

Consider authorizing the Whiskey Creek Flood Mitigation Study by TranSystems, Inc.; and update on recently completed work.

C.

Consider authorizing the purchase of one aerial fire truck.

D.

Consider authorizing the remounting of one ambulance and the purchase of one ambulance.

E.

Presentation of proposed Interlocal Cooperation Agreement regarding coordination of EMS services by Brian Williams, Labette Health.

F.

Review protocol for Public Forums.

G.

Consider authorizing the Resolution and Proclamation for the Neewollah Celebration.
