[ARCHIVED] Annual Fire Hydrant Flushing

Hydrant(1)

The City will begin flushing fire hydrants Tuesday, September 4th and will continue for approximately six weeks. The hydrant-flushing program is very important for the maintenance of the water distribution system.  If you notice cloudy water there is air in the line and you should let the water run for a few minutes to clear it up. If the water looks discolored let it run for a few minutes to clear it up. If you have a problem with low pressure in any faucet, you may need to clean out the screen. When they are in your area, you may notice low water pressure, but it should not last more than 20 minutes. If you continue to have problems please call City Hall at 332-2500.
