Housing Authority

The Independence Housing Authority is a governmental body authorized by the State of Kansas and the City of Independence to assist in the development and operation of housing and housing programs for low and moderate income families.

Mission

The Independence Housing Authority is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life by providing decent and affordable housing in a safe, secure living environment.

The Independence Housing Authority shall comply with all federal, state, and local nondiscrimination laws, the rules and regulations covering Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, and the American with Disabilities Act. The Independence Housing Authority shall not discriminate or deny any family or individual the opportunity to apply for housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin, or ancestry.
