The Tree Board shall consist of five members who shall be appointed by a majority vote of the governing body. Tree Board members must be residents of the city.
The Tree Board shall meet at least quarterly and may call special meetings as needed. A
special meeting may be called at the request of any two members of the Tree Board. At its initial
meeting, the Tree Board may adopt its own operating rules and procedures for the purpose of
conducting its meetings and duties. It shall be the primary duty of the Tree Board to create and
adopt a Community Forestry Plan to be submitted for approval by the governing body. After the
initial adoption of a Community Forestry Plan, the Community Forestry Plan shall be updated
and/or amended as often as needed to be determined by the Tree Board in its advisory capacity to the governing body.
