We currently have openings on the Land Bank Board of Trustees. Applications are due by Noon on April 30, 2021. Preferred candidates shall have experience in law, finance, real estate and/or construction.
Section 3. Land Bank Board of Trustees; Appointment; Terms; Dissolution.
a) There is hereby established a Board of Trustees of the Bank. The Board shall be composed of seven ( 7) members who shall all be residents of the City. Board members shall be appointed by the Governing Body. Vacancies on the Board shall be filled by appointment for the vacant unexpired term.
b) For the initially appointed members, two (2) members shall be appointed for a term of one( 1) year, an additional two ( 2) members shall be appointed for a term of two 2) years, and the remaining three ( 3) members shall be appointed for a term of three years. Thereafter, Board members shall be appointed to serve terms of three 3) years. A member shall not be eligible for reappointment after serving three( 3) full consecutive terms.
c) Primary support for the Board shall be provided by the director of the Independence Housing Authority, or designee, as well as City staff as designated by the City Manager.
d) The Bank may be dissolved by ordinance of the Governing Body, without cause. In such case, all property of the Bank shall be transferred to and held by the City and may be disposed of as otherwise provided by law.
