“We are very appreciative of the effort our residents made to complete this survey,” said Independence City Manager Kelly Passauer. “This was an important initiative to collect meaningful feedback that will help us improve current and future services.”
According to the survey report, the areas of highest satisfaction among residents completing the survey included the maintenance of Riverside Park & Ralph Mitchell Zoo and quality and responsiveness of Fire and EMS services. Key areas noted in need of improvement were city street conditions and enforcement of standards related to maintenance and upkeep of residential homes.
The survey process and report were facilitated by the Tanner Accountants & Advisors consulting company and were presented to the Independence City Commission at its May 27 meeting. Passauer said the City will consider feedback from the survey as it develops plans for future programs and services.
